The conference "Genomics for Health" introduces a novel concept that will focus on two major topics within the area of life sciences: oncology and systems biology.
All sessions will follow the same general programme, thereby allowing participants to gain a better overview of all research areas and a deeper insight into single research topics. The structure has been chosen deliberately to take into account the difficulty participants face resulting from their different levels of familiarity with the various research areas being covered. Each plenary session starts with a lecture on basic research and continues with lectures on drug development and on the latest developments in clinical applications. The plenary sessions will conclude with speeches that elaborate the ethical and social aspects in more detail. On Wednesday, ample time is dedicated to young researchers, providing them the opportunity to present their work either orally or by means of posters.
